Shooting in direct sunlight is something most photographers try to avoid. The light is directly overhead and casts unwanted shadows. However you can still create some magical images despite this disadvantage.

In a perfect world we would always shoot photographs during the golden hour. We would be out just before and for the hour after sunrise. Then again for the hour before and just after sunset. Unfortunately sometimes we’re going to have to take photographs mid day in wide-open harsh sunlight. So how do we make that work?
